Funnel Draw / Integrations / PayPal

Funnel Draw + PayPal

PayPal can only post its own webhooks from a PayPal developer app, so the usual way is a Zap: each completed payment capture becomes a purchase with its amount on the step you picked. Make and n8n can do the same.

How it works

Set it up

  1. Create PayPal's address in Funnel Draw

Open Integrations → PayPal, pick the funnel and the step your payments land on, and click "Create PayPal's address". Copy it now: it is shown in full only once, and Regenerate makes a new one.

  2. Start a Zap on payment captures

In Zapier, create a Zap with the PayPal app and the "Payment Capture Webhooks" trigger, and connect your PayPal business account. Older PayPal checkouts report as "Payment Sale Webhooks" instead.

  3. Keep completed payments only

Add a Filter by Zapier step: continue only if Event Type exactly matches PAYMENT.CAPTURE.COMPLETED.

  4. Post the amount to Funnel Draw

Add Webhooks by Zapier → POST (a paid Zapier plan): the address as URL, Payload Type JSON, and one Data row, value = Resource Amount Value. It is already in dollars, so no Formatter step is needed.

  5. Or use Make or n8n

In Make, the PayPal "New notification" module (PayPal's IPN: paste Make's URL into PayPal's IPN settings) with a filter on payment_status = Completed, then HTTP → Make a request with an application/JSON body {"value": mc_gross}. In n8n, the PayPal Trigger on PAYMENT.CAPTURE.COMPLETED (it needs a PayPal REST app's client ID and secret), then an HTTP Request node, POST, JSON body.

  6. Check the payment in the PayPal panel

Make a small real payment, then open Integrations → PayPal in Funnel Draw: it shows in the latest events and "Last sale" updates.

Ideas to try

Questions

Can I paste Funnel Draw's address into PayPal's webhook settings?

Not directly. PayPal's webhooks are set up on a REST app at developer.paypal.com, which most sellers don't have, so connect PayPal through Zapier, Make or n8n.

Where is the PayPal "Successful Sale" trigger in Zapier?

Zapier now lists PayPal's webhook triggers instead. Use "Payment Capture Webhooks" for PayPal Checkout payments, or "Payment Sale Webhooks" for older checkouts, and filter on the completed event.

Do I need to divide the PayPal amount by 100?

No. PayPal sends the amount as a decimal in the payment's currency, for example 49.00.

What is PayPal IPN?

Instant Payment Notification, PayPal's older notification system. Make's PayPal "New notification" module listens to it: you paste Make's URL into PayPal's IPN settings.
